Put on a Hat

Which hat are you wearing today?
The children achieve, you say
parents receive the news
I'm relieved he's doing well
Young man, do not try to deceive me.
Take off you hat and look at me.
How well do you do this dance
of learning and growing,
independence and showing,
Of parenting, teaching, and organizing.
I take off my hat to you.

This poem started with this week's spelling list which was all ie/ei words. The hats made it easy to get the image. And we had to line up according to how well we dance. So it almost wrote itself. Thanks for the inspiration.
